Founded in the summer of 2013 Rose Brown began at a work station set up around the kitchen table. The first collection was small, and Rose held a launch party for the brand at The Old Citreon Garage in Islington, London. The event was well attended and gave enormous motivation to continue forward with the label.
Rose graduated in Textile Design from Winchester School of Art in 2010 and worked in the Fashion Industry for 3 years pursuing a career designing knitwear for high street retailers in the UK and US.
In January of 2013 Rose made a leap from full time employment and took a 4 month design residency for a non-profit organisation called Awamaki, based in the Sacred Valley of South Peru. She worked directly with women’s co-operatives and lead workshops on product development to help communities access economic opportunities through utilising their own inherited skills in traditional textiles. This opportunity gave Rose further insight into the importance of craftsmanship and heritage industries.
Upon her return Rose immediately started work on building her own name sake label and maintains her passion and enthusiasm for design and making today.
